My cheap dCam is not at all optimal for sport photography.
Kristen's training partners went 5-0 on this night.

I believe this fight ended in a rear naked choke. It'd been submission only, no striking.
Fight two.

The fight between the heavyweights is the only one I really remember going to the second round. I don't know why it ended early in the second. I thought the guy in black/red trunks might have quit due to exhaustion. The guy next to me thought it was a DQ, but couldn't figure out what would have earned the DQ. I had a bad feeling about the rest of the night at this point. The fight didn't go cleanly and the guy in black/red trunks was in pretty bad shape. Also, skill was not here evident.

This fight was very redeeming. Good striking, a snappy rear naked choke. They struck a good enough posture for me to turn into a logo for the night. Also, I like that the last picture of their set looks like the ref picked up the winner by the throat.
Fight four (first fight involving a Kristen training partner).

Rapid groundwork where the fighters were most frequently in positions that were very unflattering on the camera. The fight concluded with a slow, methodical advance into the rear nake choke. He got the hook, and sunk the choke.
A pair of girls in front of me brought magazines. I'd not expected to see a copy of Cosmo.

Fight five (another with a Kristen training partner, I think this was the one where the ref fought).

This fight had been a rather dominant performance where a guillotine choke was sunk deep, and quickly. Once sunk the match was ended abruptly enough that those unfamiliar with the choke were unsure why it'd ended. I've sunk that choke deep on Mike Pratt and Jason Jennings.
Fight six (another for Kristen's Brazilian Top Team [BTT]).

This match featured two low blows. I didn't see the first one all that well. The second was very clear. Each guy had one underhook, and Kristen's training partner kept throwing wild body shots. I had a good angle as that fist collided with crotch. The fight was delayed for each low blow (as is typical, no unfair advantage allowed from such things). There was some booing for the second low blow. Or in Kristen and Co.'s case, it was booing that the low blow was called. The third rep from her team ended the match with a KO.
Fight seven (another involving BTT).

This fight was good fun to watch. The striking was crisp. The grappling was skilled. The guy in black/red trunks was not from BTT, but I was very impressed with him at times. There was a spot where the BTT rep had what I believe was a guillotine (with a trapped arm, so less effective) and he powered up to his feet and slammed the attempted choker down, attemptedly on the head, but I think the shoulder took most of it. The match ended 'controversally' when the BTT guy had an arm bar. The black/red trunk guy didn't tap though and he'd lifted BTT rep off the ground. I don't know if the arm bar was sunk, it was definitely close and the arm bar is a dangerous move, especially when the person applying it is dangling from the one receiving it. Eh. Black/red was angry for losing without quitting. The people around me were of the opinion that the ref should've let BTT break his arm.
Fight eight.

Many counters. Much technique. The ending was sad. Ref stoppage. The white trunk guy had full mount and was raining down punches that looked weak enough that they should have only been earning points, I don't think they could have knocked the guy on the bottom out or cut him. I guess in favor of the ref's decision was the guy on the bottom not really doing anything other than having his hands in the way of the punches. I found out during this fight that there were no forearms or elbows allowed on the ground in the rules of the night. Forearms and elbows are key now-a-days in the ground and pound game.
Fight nine (involving a real life Brazilian).

I don't remember how this fight ended. I'll lie and say it ended with the Brazilian guy going for the ankle pick and clutching hard. He roared and began swinging the hapless American at the corner of the cage, which fortunately had a fair deal of give. After the third swing the American was bleeding a bit from the forehead. During the fourth swing the American got a hold of the cage and he used all of his strenght to remain parallel to the mat. He began shoving his free foot into the face of the Brazilian repetitive-like. The Brazilian lost his grip. The American climbed the cage and dove at his opponent, who ducked. The Brazilian taunted the downed American to get up, he didn't notice the ref behind him. He did notice as the ref's foot came up between his legs and into his 'ladiesfriends,' doubling the sad Brazilian over. The American stood, placed his hands behind the Brazilian's head (in what is known as a Thai clinch). He pulled the head forward and down, and thrusted his kneed up and forward to meet him. The crowd was boisterous as the Brazilian fell. Boos and cheers. The ref held the American's hand high and they hugged.

Two heavyweights. They had fair technique. It was a quick fight. Blackshorts McWhiteman had very heavy hands and kept getting them all the way to Blackwhitetrunks O'Blackman's face. Both guys had fun kicks for their weight class, but McWhiteman's punches proved to be too much. His opponent was rocked a few times, eventually turning his back and trying to get away from the source of his pain. Much can be learned from such.
Fight eleven (main event, featuring a fellow from BTT). Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Lightheavyweights. The BTT guy seemed very well rounded, he was in crazy shape. I think 'Opponent' noticed that BTT guy was better at grappling than him, so he decided to 'throw bones.' A slugfest followed, but BTT guy was a better striker. He could throw faster, stronger and more accurate punches. Opponent was dizzied by a combination of punches, so BTT guy jumped and landed a shin kick to Opponent's face for the glamorous highlight KO.

Then random pictures.
